The first phase of the Las Cruces High School renovation project is finished and the school is opening its doors so that the community can take a look at the new facilities. A community open house will be held Saturday, Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visitors should enter the school on the east side of El Paseo where the new sky bridge is located.
Every half hour beginning at 10 a.m., students will give tours of the new academic buildings, the sky bridge, the administrative area, the multimedia/library center and performing arts laboratory. The last tour will begin at 1 p.m. Refreshments will also be provided.
Construction of phase II of the LCHS renovation project will begin next spring, with completion expected in December 2017. A new cafeteria, auxiliary gym and tennis courts will be built. Several of the older buildings also will be renovated.
