Summer Computer Camps
The Young Women in Computing (YWiC) program for young women in high schools runs from 12:30-4:00 PM Monday through Friday from June 5 through June 16. Students will learn to explore computing skills and discover talents through an introduction to programing, computational thinking and new technologies.
Project GUTS (Growing Up Thinking Scientifically) is for all middle school students and runs from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., Monday through Friday from June 19-23. Students in Project GUTS will learn computer programming basics, make computer models in StarLogo Nova, use the model to run simulations, and crate an interactive computer game.
CS Adventures Camp. June 19 – 30, 2017, 12:30 – 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday, for 30 high school students.Join this fun and elite computer camp, and become a creator of new technologies and programming! Explore Raspberry Pi’s, Parallax Boebots, Arduino microprocessors, Smart Grid Technologies, and learn Python, C, and more. This camp provides a broad foundation for computer science, to empower our area high school students in CS and computational thinking. Acceptance into this program will be based on answers provided on the application, the availability of the student applicant to participate in the full two weeks of the program, plus targeted regional, gender, and age distributions.
